Grundlsee is situated at an altitude of 708 meters and is thus considered a mountain lake—yet we still enjoy pleasant swimming temperatures in the summer; in winter, it is the ice swimmers who find ideal conditions.
The indication of the lake temperature is, of course, always a spot measurement at a specific location in the lake—in this case, measured at the boathouse of the Grundlsee shipping company—but it should serve as a standardized reference point.
The measurement of Grundlsee's water temperature is not done manually, but through a measuring station that provides live data.
